Dex weapons can be extremely good. In fact, the Rapier and it's replacement in Drangleic are IMO the best overall weapons in the game. An upgraded Rapier can easily carry you far into the lategame. It's my go to for most quick runs through the game. They just might not be suitable for your playstyle.
